It’s time to formally terminate the marriage life for filmmaker Selvaraghavan-actress Sonia Agarwal. This isn’t a buzz revealed by the closer sources as both of them were present at Egmore family court, yesterday (August 12) for filing divorce with mutual consent.
Selvaraghavan and Sonia Agarwal entered into nuptials on December 15, 2006 at Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall under the presence of superstar Rajnikanth. It was a star-spangled occasion with leading personalities from Kollywood gracing over the occasion.
According to the sources, their happy life was as short-lived as trouble flared-up once Sonia Agarwal found that Selvaraghavan has been involved in an affair with playback singer-actress Andrea. It has been revealed that both of them were living separately although they showed up together for public functions.
Another set of rumours making rounds is that Selvaraghavan’s family is strictly against Sonia acting again and this has caused friction between the couple. It is said that Superstar Rajnikant tried to talk to both Selva and Sonia inorder to save their marriage, but was not sucessful. Selvaraghavan’s younger brother Dhanush is married to Rajnikant’s daughter Aishwarya.
After filing for divorce Sonia Agarwal returned to acting with the television drama ‘Naanal’ on Kalaignar TV. She has also reportedly signed a Malayalam film for the first time. Selvaraghavan after the misfortune of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is waiting to strike back with vengeance; He is immersed with his next film starring Vikram and Swathi of ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame.
