Yesteryear actor Karthik is making a comeback to Kollywood with 'Maanja Velu'. The actor, who has been a part of the Tamil film industry for over 29 years, portrays the role of a police officer and the brother of protagonist Arun Vijay. Talking about his comeback, Karthik says, "It's an emotional re-union with my peers. I don't know why I drifted away from acting for years. I want to thank Mani Ratnam for bringing me back to the industry in his film 'Raavan'. It fetched me ‘Maanja Velu’. "I didn't want to sign up for any other film till 'Raavan' was released, but my good friend and colleague Prabhu persuaded me to take up the 'Maanja Velu' role. Although I only appear in a guest role, it is a powerful cameo," he adds.
