Vijayakanth’s Captain TV logo was released on January 14th, 2010. The trial broadcast of Captain TV will be on from March 15th and will go on till April 13th.
Satellite TV channel Captain TV will go on air from the 14th of April. Vijayakanth has planned to launch his channel in the biggest way possible. So he is inviting all the film hotshots in South India, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Telugu star Chiranjeevi, etc. He has planned to make the occasion itself a programme on his TV channel.
This event will be mostly held in Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium in Chennai.
Being the Former President of the Film Artists Association, Vijayakanth is expecting all his colleagues from the film industry to be part of the launch.
On the launch, sources say that the first movie that will be telecasted on Captain TV will be ‘Captain Prabhakar’. Another highlight of the event, sources say that on the invite list Indian Cricket Team Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also included.
This 24 hours channel will be broadcasted through the INSAT 4B Satellite.
There would be serials, English films dubbed in Tamil, latest Tamil films, news etc. According to the press release, Captain TV will give prime importance to social issues and will have programs for women, children, students and the youth.
